UPDATE: International Walk to School Day was a Success!!!  The Safe Mobility Project provided pedestrian safety items including phone wallet lanyards, reflectors, and light up bracelets.  The Akron Police Department joined Akron Children's Hospital for the event.  It was a beautiful fall morning and great to see so many students greeted on their way to school.  A BIG THANKS to Akron Children's Hospital and Akron Police Department for supporting safe routes for our students!!!

WHO:
Families and Students of Jennings CLC.
WHAT:  International Walk to School Day.
WHEN: Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
WHERE:  The streets that lead to Jennings CLC.
WHY:  International Walk to School Day celebrates the joys of walking and opens the eyes of students, families, schools and community leaders. Typically, the event is held annually during the first Wednesday in October.  However, since Yom Kippur falls on October 5th, this year's event will be on October 12. This event involves communities from more than 40 countries. Over time the event, which began in 1997, has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school. Today, thousands of schools across America — from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico — participate.
