WHAT: Halloween Costume Contest. Prizes for top three costumes. 1st place prize in $75!!!
WHERE: Jennings CLC. The
ENTRY FEE, $1 for Students and $5 for staff, will be collected during Homeroom the week of October 25, 2021.
WHEN: The contest is on Friday, October 29, 2021.

COSTUME CONTEST
ADDITIONAL DETAILS (the fine print):
In an effort to enjoy and celebrate Halloween at Jennings CLC appropriately, respectfully, and in accordance with school rules, we require students who would like to wear a costume to school on Friday, October 29, 2021, to adhere to the following guidelines when selecting a costume and pay $1:
1. No head coverings unless it is part of the costume, NO Halloween masks or FULL face paint.
Staff members must be able to identify students. Students are required to wear the regular mandated mask.
2. Costumes that are provocative, revealing, sexual in nature, or employ questionable props are not permitted. Bodies must be covered- no sports bras, short shorts, etc.
3. Costumes that depict violence, alcohol, or drugs are not permitted. Fake weapons are not
allowed.
4. Costumes that could be offensive or perpetuate a stereotype of someone’s culture, gender,
heritage, or religion are not permitted.
5. Costumes should not hinder your ability to participate in your classes, including P.E.
Costumes may not disrupt or impede traffic, or present issues of safety in the hallway.
6. All administrators have the authority to “veto” a student’s costume without question.
7. Costumes must adhere to the Akron Public School District’s dress guidelines.
Students wearing questionable costumes will be required to change into normal school attire and will be issued school consequences. If you have any questions regarding the appropriateness of your costume idea, we encourage you to speak to your grade-level principal prior to Friday. Have fun dressing up but be mindful of your costume.
