An incredible performing arts opportunity will be taking place July 20-25th and APS students can be a part of it!!!
YEPAW is a faith based organization which stands for Youth Excellence Performing Arts Worshop. YEPAW will be hosting their annual performing arts workshop virtually this summer. Founded in 1990 by Dr. Leslie Parker-Barnes, Youth Excellence Performing Arts Workshop is an intensive, one-week workshop which serves to cultivate exploration of a variety of creative and performing arts in youth ages 12 to 21.
Each year, the workshop closes with a large community concert to showcase the songs and skills that have been developed and perfected all week long.
In addition to all of these amazing opportunities, this same organization will be offering the same services for ages 4-11 and is called WEPAW which stands for YEPAW for the "wittle" ones! Many Akron Public Schools students have participated in this event in the past, and now that it is virtual, I think that this is a wonderful opportunity for students to share and grow in their gifts and talents and express themselves.
